Celebrating Easter long weekend in Cowichan Valley

Family fun from Lake Cowichan to Malahat Skwalk

There was no shortage of Easter celebrations throughout the Cowichan Valley this weekend from Easter egg hunts in Lake Cowichan to the Malahat Skywalk and so many places in between.

Mill Bay Centre’s March 30 Easter Egg Hunt took place on the playing fields of Brentwood College and the event went without a hitch. The festivities were managed by the Rotary Club of South Cowichan (Mill Bay) with guest appearances by the Easter Bunny and Chick (a.k.a. Hilary and Bronwyn Abbott).

At the Lake it was glorious sunshine, excited kids, and chocolate: what could be better?

Cowichan Lake families turned out in large numbers March 31 to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt at Saywell Park.

An estimated 150 children were able to enjoy the best of small community fun.

The Lake Cowichan Ambassadors were on hand to paint faces, Jordan Matchett kept everyone entertained with tunes, the by-donation hot dogs and drinks raised $723.40 for the Lake Cowichan Food Bank, the kids ran their hearts out looking for eggs and prizes, and Easter Bunny Cory Felix arrived to end the festivities on a high note.
