VIDEO: Miller ends her Victoria Symphony career with a concert in Duncan Friday

Timothy Chooi, Miller’s discovery and now and international star, joins her for this final performance

Maestra Tania Miller ends her years conducting the Victoria Symphony with a concert in Duncan Friday, May 12 at the Cowichan Performing Ars Centre, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The evening will feature violinist Timothy Chooi in Tchaichovsky’s Violin Concerto.

Selected by Tania Miller as Young Soloist for Victoria Symphony Splash in 2006, and now an international star, Chooi performs the fiery concerto for his many Cowichan Valley fans.

For her final work as music director, Maestra Miller then leads the orchestra through the powerful Shostakovich Symphony No. 5.

Tickets are $42 each for adults. Children and students get in for $5, so if you know a young violin student be sure to tell them of this special treat. Groups of 10 or more can enjoy the show for $25 each, as can anyone who is willing to sit in the first three rows of the theatre.

Call the Cowichan Ticket Centre at 250-748-7529 to book your seats for the end of an era.
