The Chemainus Classical Concerts series presents Persian Spring with Ensemble Daryâ featuring Douglas Hensley, Faraidoun Akhavan and Arian Aminalroaya on Sunday, April 9, starting at 2 p.m. at St Michael’s Church, Chemainus.

The group is back by popular demand, according to series organizers.

They bring the exotic sounds of ancient Persia to this acoustically happy venue, and you’ll get to hear unique traditional instruments such as the tombak and daff.

Classical Persian music is based on 12 modes and these compositions and improvisations open new aural doors for listeners.

Tickets are $20 at the door for adults with music lovers under 18 getting in for $5.
