Ongoing wildfires in B.C. and across the border in Washington have led to yet another special air quality statement issued for the Cowichan Valley and much of the rest of eastern Vancouver Island by Environment Canada

An increasing southerly flow on Thursday will likely spread smoke from wildfires south of the border into the area, adding to smoke drifting into the area from the interior’s fires.

A wetter, cooler and breezier pattern towards the end of the work week is expected to improve air quality conditions across the province.
