Students, staff and parents gathered outside Duncan Christian Secondary School Thursday, Sept. 8, for a special celebration as, to smiles and acclaim, the school’s board chair Bill Wikkerink cut the ribbon to officially open the High School Library Commons Project.

For anyone who’s ever entered the school, the landscape at the entry has changed significantly. The old office has been transformed into a library and computer centre, while the space on the other side of the hall is now a common room/learning area.

Both spaces are highly adaptable and will get a lot of use, according to DCS principal Jeremy Tinsley.

Meanwhile, visitors to the school can now check in or get information at a reception area located just inside the main door, between the two new learning spaces.
