Lefebure re-elected as Cowichan Valley Regional District board chairman

Over the last 50 years, there has only been one other director who has served four consecutive terms

The Cowichan Valley Regional District board has re-elected North Cowichan Mayor Jon Lefebure as chairman.

At its Nov. 8 meeting Lefebure was chosen by his fellow directors to serve a fourth consecutive term in the role of board chairman and Cowichan Valley Regional Hospital District chairman.

Area F (Cowichan Lake South/Skutz Falls) Director Ian Morrison, was elected to serve as vice chairman.

“I am very pleased to have been re-elected board chair and excited about the work ahead of us in the final year of our term,” said Lefebure.

In the coming weeks Lefebure will create his standing committees and select his committee chairs.

Over the last 50 years, there has only been one other director who has served as board chairman for four consecutive terms — Joe Allan (1994 to 1997).
