More than two months after a fatal stabbing in Duncan, police have not released any new information about the incident.

A 44-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly at a home in Duncan in the early hours of Sept. 14, and later died at Cowichan District Hospital. A 46-year-old Duncan man was taken into custody at the time.

No charges were announced at the time, and neither the suspect or victim were identified. Police said that the victim was a former Island resident who was known to the suspect, and it was not believed to be a random act.

According to North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Chris Swain, police are continuing to look into the incident.

“There are no updates,” he said in an email this week. “That matter is still under investigation.”
