After three court dates this month, there’s still no decision as to whether Kehar Garry Sangha will be released on bail until his trial.

The latest chapter in Sangha’s bail hearing concluded in the Duncan courthouse on May 19, where it was decided another date will have to be set for the continuation of his bail hearing.

Sangha has pleaded not guilty to nine charges related to a case in which a woman is alleged to have been held and beaten in a Cowichan Valley home over a three-day period last month.

The charges against Sangha, who remains in custody after his arrest on April 12, include aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and unlawful confinement or imprisonment.

Officers responded to a 911 call on April 11, finding a woman in need of medical assistance being aided by a local contractor.

Sangha was taken into custody the next day.

RCMP officers spent April 13 searching a property on Stamps Road, where the woman said she was held, for evidence.

The bail hearing for Sangha began at the Duncan Courthouse on May 2.
