Duncan - What a wonderful and heartwarming front page story you had in last Friday's edition. For me this is just the most recent example of the myriad good things that happen in this generous and supportive community in which we are so fortunate to live.
As a long time volunteer and member of the board of the Cowichan Valley Basket Society (the food bank), I can testify to the great generosity of the people and businesses in our Cowichan Valley community. So many times over the years, when the shelves were getting depleted at the food bank, and the word got out to the community, the great support was always there. And how great for Douglas Williams that all those strangers who got together and put a new roof on his house are strangers no longer.Ian McFarland Duncan
