Woman airlifted to hospital after stumbling into downtown Duncan traffic

A woman was struck by a Kia Sedona after she stumbled into traffic near the Tim Hortons location on Trunk Road

A woman was struck by a Kia Sedona after she stumbled into traffic due to a medical condition brought on by the heat.

The incident occurred near the Tim Hortons location on Trunk Road in Duncan at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cpl. Krista Hobday, a spokeswoman for the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment, said the woman sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Victoria.

Hobday said the investigation continues and more information will be released as it becomes available.
