It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Amarjit Singh Dhut at the age of 78. Amarjit was born in the Village of Dhut Kalan, District of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India on November 27, 1937. He was predeceased by his parents Jai Kaur and Jagat Singh as well as his brothers Gurjit and Karamjit.
Survived by wife, Jacqueline, son Darshan (Jackie) and daughters, Debby (Jim) Ryan and Shari (Keith) Earl. Also survived by grandchildren Haley (Andrew), Darcy, Alannah, Joshua and Shay and great grandchildren Adyn, Eli and Noah. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Amarjit was employed in the Forest Industry for 51 years. He worked in Tahsis, McKay Lake, Ram Trucking in Ladysmith, Mayo Lumber Co. in Nanaimo and Doman Industries in Cowichan Bay, BC
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Chemainus Health Care, including Edith, a very special friend and to all the Hospice Volunteers and attending Doctors.
A Funeral Service will be held at New Life Baptist Church, 1839 Tzouhalem Road on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow at Cowichan Valley Crematorium, Paldi, BC. Prayers and langar to follow at Paldi Sikh Temple.
Flowers are gratefully declined, if so desired, Memorial Remembrances may be made in the form of a donation to a charity of your choice.
