1923-2016
Anne was born in Cork, Ireland, December 3, 1923 and passed away at Cerwydden Care, Duncan, BC on October 14, 2016. At the age of 12, she moved to her aunts and helped with the family business. In her 20’s she and a friend left rural Ireland for a life in Eastern Canada. Shortly after, she headed to northwestern BC for a life in Kitimat. After meeting and marrying Tom, they headed down to Salt Spring Island so Tom could work in a less dangerous environment. Anne worked in the hotel business many years and managed a Dining Room. Eventually, they landed in Cobble Hill and retirement. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Tom, 12 years ago. For the past 6 years, Anne had lived in Cerwydden. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and was a pleasure to be with – a lovely lady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11 am in St. Edwards Church, 2085 Maple Bay Rd, Duncan BC. Interment to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, 790 Kilmalu Rd, Mill Bay BC.
