Survived by her sister Hazel, children Doug & Penny (Steve, Kelly), Gary (David), Gordon & Kayleen (Kayla & Logan, Jordon), Bruce & Pat (Lakotah, Kendell, Brianna), Carole & Darrell (Owen) and great grandchildren Aidan and Salem. Bernice was raised in Glenora, and was one of the first graduates of the Duncan High School in 1947. Shortly after high school while working at the local Phone Exchange (BC Tel) she met George and they were married in 1951. Her next accomplishments were raising her four sons and daughter while harvesting the garden’s produce and berry picking for jam and pies at their Cowichan Bay home. Bernice’s passion to help others and to be involved in community events led her on an extensive path of volunteer work for many organizations in the Cowichan Valley, but her favourites were Brae Road Chapel and Camp Imadene. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Cowichan District Hospital and doctors for their generous care and attention of our mom.
