Born in Grand Prairie, Alberta, raised in Duncan, B.C. where he spent the majority of his youth.
After serving in the Canadian Navy during WW2, Eric pursued a career in baseball with the NY Yankees in the U.S. He later became an avid golfer, and played up until a few years ago.
Eric is survived by his wife, Jean, of 70 years, 4 daughters; Pam Baugher, Chris Moore (California), Toni Lynn Eagle (Reno, Nev.), and Stephanie Snader (Pennsylvania);
10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
Eric is also survived by his brother, Pete Gard of Duncan, B.C. He was predeceased by his brother, Don Gard.
