It is with sadness we announce the passing of Geoffrey Mullins of Duncan on February 29th...he died of natural causes doing what he loved, riding his bicycle.

Geoffrey spent his early years near Manchester and had travelled extensively before coming to North America in 1982. He was struck by the beauty and lush wilderness of the West Coast and made British Columbia his new home, living in Deep Cove for many years before moving to the Island.

He was a poet and philosopher, an engineer and builder of intriguing contraptions - a connoisseur of recycling and champion of the underclass - a gentle giant with size 16 sandals, a double-wide sense of humour and a heart to match. Visitors were always welcome at his homestead & workshop, and good conversation and laughter were inevitable.

Geoffrey is survived by his sister Sylvia Lukaczynski of Wales and daughter Claire Stringer of England.

There will be a memorial and gathering to honour Geoffrey at the Duncan United Church Hall, 246 Ingram Street, on Sunday April 3 at 2:00pm.
