“Going for a drive...”

And now the time has come to say, fair thee well, good and faithful servant.

With sadness we announce the passing of our dear dad, Hubert “Hugh” Stanley Colbourne. He is in his resting place with his wife Monica May (nee Hardyman) and all the wonderful family and friends that have passed away before him. Born to Nelson William and Marjorie May (nee Barlow) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Only child, but brother-in-law to Joyce and Dean, Yvonne and Jack. A nephew and uncle to many. Then, on to Vancouver where marriage and first child Huana (Tony Teufel) took place. On to California where Brenda (Reg Edgson) and Guy (Sue Picken) were born. Then to Duncan and lastly, Campbell River. His legacy will follow him with 60 grandchildren ( including greats and great greats). Served as a co-pilot (RCAF) in the 2nd World War. He was an avid card player, artist, machinist, welder, crafter, gardener, (with daughter Brenda obviously inheriting his green thumb), bird lover, Bible studier, and woodworker which he passed on to his son Guy, and grandson. A very clean and neat man to the end, everything in order, even to teaching his daughter Didi, to use a tape measure to rearrange his room, so he could reach his water with his right hand, as he was bed ridden at the end. A man of few words, but the words were wise, “A still tongue makes a wise head”.

He will be sadly missed, forever in our hearts.

God Bless You Dad and may you rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Glenora Hall, Sunday August 28th. Stop by any time between 1 and 5 pm.
