June was born in Niagara Falls, Ont on September 4, 1946. She died on September 2, 2016 in Duncan BC after a two and a half year brave fight with cancer. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Kate and son Kevin (Duncan), Robert and daughter Madison (Edmonton/NWT), Richard and daughter Stella (Montreal), and sisters Debbie Heaslip (Peter) (Stevensville) and Elizabeth Haig (Duncan). She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Kay Haig (Niagara Falls). June’s life in Duncan was a happy one filled with family, friends and music. June never wanted a funeral after she passed. When diagnosed with cancer, she opted to have a Celebration of Life while she was still relatively well. A wonderful group of family, friends and local musicians gathered in City Square and danced the night away.
