Leo passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Ladysmith.

He is survived by the love of his life, Joan. His brothers Tony (Judy), Larry (Mona). Sons Michael (JoAnne), Brian (Karren), and Joan’s kids, Karen (Brian), Les (Bonnie), Ila (Murray), and Grant. He also had many grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and some very dear friends who will miss him greatly.

For 35 years Leo owned and ran his own business as a lumber broker on Vancouver Island and spent his downtime fishing . He enjoyed it enough that he upgraded to a 24 foot boat in the next 2 years. In the years that followed he took up bowling and golf .Leo loved his golf and ran the Men’s Mt Breton Golf Tournament for 11 years in the 80’s and 90’s adding many golfing friends along the way.

When Leo retired they would spend their next 7 winters in Yuma. Along with golf, concerts and hockey games, he enjoyed spending time down south with his brother Tony and cousin Peter and their families. Leo and Joan were very well known for entertaining and hosting meals, card games or just enjoying conversation in their “Arizona Room.” It was not unusual to have a full house. In the spring and summer Leo looked forward to coming home to his greenhouse and planting his summer flowers, tomatoes and garlic. He always enjoyed a game of poker and had a passion for his stocks. He could be found throughout the day, researching, reading and checking on them on his computer.

In his last 3 years, they downsized their home and moved into a very close knit community where he was well known by friends and neighbors.

He will be sadly missed by Joan

and all those who knew and loved him!
