Marlene passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Marlene met her husband Albert (Van) while she was working as an operator for BC Tel in the 1950’s. It wasn’t long before they were married and having children. They lived in Nanaimo, Comox, Burnaby and finally settled in Coquitlam, where they stayed until retirement. Then it was back to the Island to live in Duncan.

Marlene is survived by her husband Albert, her son Guy (Laurie), daughter Dawn (Kenn), grandchildren Shane (Beth), Jo-Lynne (Dan), Riley (Jarrett), Todd (Candis), and Brett (Scott), and seven great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her mother (Naomi), father (Herb), sisters (Phyllis and Ann) and her eldest daughter Laura.

The family wishes to thank the Duncan Dialysis Unit Nurses and Dr. Roy Gilbert for all their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
