Passed away peacefully in Duncan on March 18, 2017 with family by his side. He was born in Abbey, Saskatchewan on September 3, 1932 to Walter and Rigmor, second in a family of six children. He is survived by his three sons: Don (Heather) of Quesnel, Ken (Barb) of Nanaimo, George (MeeKyong) of Korea, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Lloyd, Art and Alice, but predeceased by siblings Evelyn and Edwin and by our mother Barbara.

Ole spent his formative years in Saskatchewan and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at 17. He met Barbara in Courtenay and they married in Parksville. His three sons were born in Montreal. Ole has resided in the Cowichan Valley since 1966 where he worked in the Crofton Pulp Mill until opening Ole’s VW Repair Shop in the early 70s. He remained a fixture of the Cowichan Valley business community until his retirement. Since then he has continued to help many people through his wood working shop and sharing his gardening produce. Ole was a man of great character, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family and many friends. He believed in honesty, integrity and paying it forward. He will be truly missed by his family and the many other friends whose lives he touched.
