Teja was survived by his wife Balwant Kaur, daughter Rachhpal, sons Pritpal (Sarabjit), Manjit and Hardeep (Harpreet) and 5 grandchildren.

A service was held on August 15, 2017 at HW Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre and the Sikh Temple Duncan.
