Tim will always be known as a hard working, kind and loving man. He was born in a light house on Mayne Island, BC in 1949. He was the father of 3 children, Tim Jr., Shannon and Nigel. Tim was married to Josie for 10 years, who he had remained friends with, up until her passing. He also had 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his siblings, Reid, Dallas, Pat and Caprice. Tim loved riding his motorcycles, sailing his boat and building furniture, all with his best friend and partner of 35 years, Peggy. The two of them could be found woodworking and building furniture til the wee hours of the night. He taught all 3 of his children the art of carpentry. Tim loved working with his hands whether it was wood, motorcycles, boats or handy work, he always kept busy. He had a love of animals and leaves behind his dog Hector as well. He was a strong man, full of great ideas and ingenuity. He read many books and loved his old western movies with John Wayne and there isn’t a Sci-Fi movie he hadn’t seen. He was kind and giving and also a forgiving man. He loved to share a laugh and tell jokes. He also liked to play jokes on his family and friends. It was a favourite pass time of his. Tim didn’t struggle to beat his illness, he fought through it. He put up a great fight and that’s because he was a fighter. Tim Gurney was a strong man, he didn’t give up easily. Through Peggy, Tim was able to find God again and was able to make peace knowing that he was going to make it through the narrow gates of Heaven. We will miss him and will never forget him.
