In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother and great grandma. Velma was born May 17, 1933 in Holborn, Alberta, and moved in 1944 with her family to a beautiful farm in Cobble Hill BC.

Survived by her husband Walter of 71 years. Her children Terry, Sandra, Donna (Bob) and Dave (Barb). Grandchildren James, Lisa and Camden (Alisha) and great grandchildren Brodi, Kaiden, Emma, Haddon & Eve. She so loved her family - and she always made family events special.

Mom had many talents starting at an early age. Starting at 16 she designed and sewed a dress for herself without the aid of a pattern. Her creativity seemed limitless, and throughout her life she enjoyed painting, ceramics, and gardening.

She was a fabulous knitter and crocheter, and donated many knit items to the hospital auxiliary at CDH. She also belonged to the"Needlers"knitting group. Mom volunteered for the Cancer association, and would annually canvas her neighbourhood where she would look forward to meeting and talking with the neighbours. She had a heart of gold, and a genuine love of life. The home was always open for family and friends.

You will be missed dearly Mom.We will love you always.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 6 from 1-3 pm at the First Memorial Hall, 375 Brae Road in Duncan.
