Christy is a stateswoman

In the past Christy Clark openly did not agree with the direction of other parties. The electorate did not agree either, enough to give BC Liberals past majorities.

Now that not enough people voted to give Christy a majority, she adjusted her policies to reflect the views of the voters that gave her a minority, most everyone. That seems right, fair and democratic.

The NDP and Greens’ attempt to govern doesn’t seem fair or right and only seemingly democratic. The coalition rationale provided is sensational, destabilizing and will be costly. It will only hurt both parties to the agreement in the long-term.

I’m particularly disappointed in the Green Party. They lost their powerful independent voice right out of the gates. I think Sonia Fursteneau should be recalled if we don’t get a chance to hold her to account sooner. Today is a rare time where a lot of local NDPers would likely agree with me, and perhaps many Green voters too.

Kind regards,

John Koury
