Let us compare Rio with Chemainus.
Rio has bad air quality; so does Chemainus, especially when Crofton mill blows our way or the smudge pot burning of garden refuse gets underway.
Rio has unsafe swimming water; so does Chemainus. Kin Beach has been closed most of the summer; I wonder why is that?
Rio can have unsafe drinking water; so does Chemainus, yet again.
I hope North Cowichan is getting a discount on all the yellow signs they are spreading about town. It has to be cheaper I suppose than fixing the problems?
With all the money North Cowichan is saving, why don’t management, starting from the top right down the chain to the mayor and council, give themselves a nice big raise?
