Hope for quick change to NDP-Green government

Hopefully by the time we are reading Wednesday’s Citizen we will have a BC NDP government supported by B.C.’s three Green MLAs, and Christy Clark will be done with her desperate bid to cling to power. The stunning policy reversals in Thursday’s throne speech reveal just how far Christy Clark will go to hang on.

Her government opposed public funding for childcare for years — now says she has “always been committed to childcare”.

After taking millions in corporate handouts and voting down six NDP bills to ban big money, she now says she supports political finance reform.

Christy Clark’s sudden policy u-turns don’t absolve her of her disastrous record and the damage it has done to British Columbia.

After 16 years it’s time for change. It’s time to let the NDP and Greens govern B.C. together for the benefit of all British Columbians and for future generations — not just corporations and the top 20 per cent. Recent polls say that’s what the majority of British Columbians want. There’s work to be done and much to recover from after 16 years of neo-Liberal neglect. Let’s get on with it!
