Is LNG really clean?

All natural gas used for LNG converts to CO2. One tonne of LNG produces over three tonnes of CO2.

Steelhead, at eight million tonnes LNG per year, or Kitimat, at 24 million tonnes LNG per year, means over 24 and 72 million tonnes per year of CO2 respectively. All additional to existing CO2 release. This is defined as clean by our government, environmentalists and First Nations, who portray themselves as environmental protectors! Put into perspective vehicle fuel burned in B.C. releases just over 16 million tonnes per year of CO2. Is this not hypocrisy? Best you put it into your own words.

Calculation: one tonne LNG is 49,000 ft3 of gas, at 0.117 pounds CO2 per ft3, add energy (natural gas) to liquefy at 20 per cent and upstream energy for transport, treatment and gathering at five per cent. For CO2 from fuel, for B.C. year 2015, 6.51 billion litres gasoline and diesel at 5.5 pounds CO2 per litre.
