Letter about real tragedies missed the point

Those who cared for the tree are the kind of people who respect life in all its forms, from seed to tree

Re: “Putting things into perspective”, (Citizen, Sept. 14)

The letter from Preston Davies about real tragedies as opposed to a tree removal was true of course, but I felt missed the point. Those who cared for the tree are the kind of people who respect life in all its forms, from seed to tree, from egg to human. Such people would be unlikely to take part in the atrocities we hear about, and this type of love and respect needs nurturing in politicians and lawmakers everywhere if we are ever to have peace.
