For those of us old enough to remember this heinous crime, I remember it well and the anger and disgust that I and virtually everyone I knew felt about what amounted to the premeditated murder of a Mountie. Miller died in 2009 of a stroke and Cockriell received full parole in 2019 at age 63 but according to reports on his health, Cockreill will join Miller in their special place in hell for what they did.
