Revitalization plan personal agenda of director

Another tax and spend initiative for Cobble Hill.

The mid-March roll out at the town hall meeting in Cobble Hill, re: the revitalization of the town championed by Area C director Matteus Clement, even though he wasn’t there for the first hour, was well attended. Participants had a chance to view glitzy graphics and were invited to record their opinion.

Discussions around the room for the most part were quite negative and frustration over this initiative was obvious. Once again the mood of the general public was ignored because it was contrary to the vision of our Area C director.

Proof of that was obvious by the summary that was presented by the consultant hired to compile all the information. The results were highly edited, sanitized and slanted in favor of the source for this initiative to indicate significant support by the public contrary to the discussions going on in the same room mid-March and again on April 6. Disappointing, but not surprising, because this whole fiasco amounts to nothing more than another tax and spend program promoting the personal agenda of Mr. Clement regardless of the wishes of the majority. A pattern for this sort of thing has emerged since the last election.

Once again, aren’t you glad we are in such good hands by our elected officials? It is my opinion that it is time to reduce their numbers and vote some of them out of office at the next opportunity.
