Separate the legitimate homeless from the druggies

From the Citizen:“Warmland House has confirmed that there are enough shelter beds available for all campers who are at Charles Hoey Park,” the city said in a separate statement.

“Even those who have previously been asked to leave the shelter due to inappropriate behavior are welcome to return once their behavior is under control.”

In the situation of this tent city you have people who are homeless for legitimate reasons, but the problem is that our Duncan crackheads have affixed themselves to this new tent city from Vic, which may have also crackheads.

The crackheads from our town, I can vouche for, are homeless because they just want to do drugs. Period. So Warmland’s rules were not good for them. The many apartments and couches they have slept on they have been blacklisted from. They couldn’t pay their bills nor their rent due to drug use.

Giving this type of people homes to live in will not solve any problems; they will just not pay the bills, and continue to do drugs but live more comfy. Yet the place will get dirty, it will become Duncan’s legal crackhouse. Nice legacy.

The government is not responsible for the homelessness of crackheads, crackheads are responsible for that. Crackheads are homeless because they can’t keep a home. Rules are not good if those rules contradict their druggie lifestyle.

The situation is to divide the camp. Find those who are legitimately homeless and who are not. Give the people deserving of home, a home, but filter out the others.

Many people succeed in keeping places, and what do they have in common? No hard drug addiction.

I’ve learned when it comes to giving, that it’s best to know the ones you give to will appreciate the gift with a sincere heart.
