There are great people living in Cowichan

I have lived in Lake Cowichan for over 20 years. I’ve seen many changes throughout the years.

I have lived in Lake Cowichan for over 20 years. I’ve seen many changes throughout the years. One thing that has never changed is how our town bonds together when unfortunate things happen, and some of the businesses in the Cowichan Valley will step in to help.

Last Wednesday, I got a call at work from my daughter Julie, telling me that the back window of my car had been smashed with a rock by somebody. I was devastated.

When I came home, I vented about it on Facebook. A few minutes later, one of my friends, John Leith Harmon, contacted me and asked me the make of my car. I told him. He contacted me 10 minutes later and said that Grant from Blacky’s Auto, and Dobsons, were going to fix it, and all I had to do was bring it in; no charge.

This kind act really means a lot to me and my family, and I really want to thank these guys for this. I also want to thank my Facebook friends, for their kind words, my coworkers and my family for putting up with me. A special thank you to my brother Cam for cleaning my car.

There are people out there who like to cause trouble, because they feel like it. But then there are angels who live amongst us and do wonderful selfless things like these guys did for me and my daughter. You guys rock. Thanks again.
