Traffic argument against Rona for police use hogwash

In recent comments made by Al Siebring, confirming that the Rona building will no longer be considered as a replacement for a new RCMP building, Al mentioned that a major problem would have been the Ministry of Transportation not approving a left hand turn lane, at the bottom of Green Road and the Trans Canada Highway, because the RCMP would have to use the Commons parking lot to get access to Drinkwater Road to answer police calls.

Total hogwash! Why? If Al would have actually had taken a drive in his car, to do some observation of the area, he would have noticed that Green Road continues on behind the Commons shopping centre, coming out on to Drinkwater Road, without having to use the Commons parking lot. Al is paid a taxpayer funded yearly salary of $59,000 per year for his job as mayor, which is also only a part time job. Surely, he could have taken the time to drive by the Rona property before making his comments about a left hand turn lane at the bottom of Green Road and the Trans Canada Highway. Unbelievable!
