Who said we want the 2018 Summer Games?

Well, here we go again. First it was “Sportsplex good for Valley” and now ” Sportsplex about investing in the future”.
The citizens of the CVRD rejected funding the Sportsplex a while ago. Now, under the guise of “in order to get ready for the 2018 BC Summer Games” the Sportsplex applied for funding to the tune of $750,000 from various governments. Were the citizens of North Cowichan, Duncan and the rest of the CVRD ever asked if they would like to host and fund said games? Who were those people who did this on our behalf? Probably the Sportsplex and other business owners who would benefit from the games while the general populace paid for the improvements.
