Adam Klassen scored seven goals as the bantam B Cowichan Thunder tamed the Comox Wild 10-3 in the final of the inaugural Gone Wild Bantam Lacrosse Tournament in Courtenay last weekend.

The Thunder and the Wild were tied at 2-2 after the first period, but Cowichan pulled away and never looked back, avenging a round-robin loss and securing the gold medal.

Cowichan opened the tournament with a 12-6 win over the Coquitlam Adanacs behind a hat trick by Seth O’Brien, then tied the Port Alberni Tyees 5-5 with Colton Gron scoring a pair. The Thunder lost their last round-robin game 10-8 to the host Wild, then beat Alberni 9-3 in the semifinal.
