Nearly 400 athletes from across Vancouver Island gathered at the Cowichan Sportsplex earlier this month for the 2017 Garriock Track and Field Meet hosted by the CVAC Jaguars.

“We had 397 registered athletes for our very successful meet,” club spokesperson Candace Fontana said.

The impressive results posted by the host club included a slew of medals: 43 gold, 38 silver and 28 bronze in individual events.

Among the top performers for the Jaguars was Alexa Dow, who finished first in the 10-year-old girls 100m, 600m and 1000m, second in javelin and third in long jump.
