Miller and Kim dominate high school bowling awards

Dawn Miller and Minseok Kim claimed the top honours as the Cowichan Valley High School Bowling Program handed out its awards.

Miller and Kim both completed the Triple Crown with their respective high single, high series and high average, and also both received scholarships from bowling program head coach Bob Linde.

Miller had the ladies high single (189), high series (478) and high average (141.36), and received the Bertha Linde Memorial Scholarship. Kim had the men’s high single (248), high series (582) and high average (166.33), and received the Denis Linde Memorial Scholarship.

Kim also claimed the men’s high over average single (98 pins) and high over average series (132 pins), and was the Most Improved Man (16.33). The ladies high over average single (70 pins) was achieved by Morgan Nederlof, who also had the high over average series (91 pins). Danielle Groenendijk was the Most Improved Lady (plus 2).

The league champions were the Cowichan Secondary Thunderbirds: Miller, Kyle Murchie and Takaya Watanabe, while the runners-up were the Duncan Christian Chargers: Kim, Nederlof and Sung Jun Jung. The playoff champions were also from Duncan Christian: Groenendijk, Rajan Hayer and Jenna Bakker.
