Desirae Ridenour won the USA Triathlon Junior Series race in Monroe

Desirae Ridenour didn’t slow down at all after winning two gold medals at the provincial high school track and field championships.

Ridenour won her first USA Triathlon Junior Series race last Saturday in Monroe, Wash., beating out 52 other competitors from across the U.S. and Canada.

Ridenour completed the race in one hour, one minute and 13.1 seconds, four-tenths of a second ahead of the second place finisher in the junior female division.

The USAT Junior Series is the top series for junior-age triathletes in the U.S. Courses are designed to mimic Olympic-style racing, with multiple laps and high speed transitions, making races exciting to watch for families, friends, and teammates.
