Although it may not have seemed like it recently, spring is not far off at Cowichan Lake and at least two groups are planning markets.
The Lake Cowichan 50+ Centre has a series of indoor Spring Markets lined up, starting Saturday, March 2 and continuing to May 4 at their location at 55 Coronation St. in downtown Lake Cowichan, across from the post office.
Tables are available to vendors selling crafts, baking, fresh produce, garden plants, and more. A lunch with fresh baked items will be available.
However, they do not want clothes or rummage sale items.
Tables are $15 each, and anyone who wants one needs to pay by cheque or cash at the centre’s front desk. The centre is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday. It’s first come, first served, and tables will be going fast. For further info, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 250-710-7327.
Meanwhile, at Honeymoon Bay, the Honeymoon Bay Outdoor Market folks are organizing a Cabin Fever Market inside the Honeymoon Bay Community Hall on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. if there’s no snow.
They say that all your favourite vendors from the summer outdoor market will be there. If you’re interested in joining the fun as a vendor, then message them at Honeymoon Bay Outdoor Market on Facebook.
The Honeymoon Bay Community Society will once again be running the concession, raising funds to support community events and update the disaster preparedness sea can.
