The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan set off on its official tour earlier in November, making stops at communities across Canada this holiday season. One of those stops was Ladysmith when the big red Coca-Cola truck covered in lights drove down First Avenue as part of the Festival of Lights Light Up Parade on Nov. 28.
The caravan coincides with a new contest from Coca-Cola this year. According to a press release from the company, Canada’s Kindest Community Contest aims to “recognize and celebrate acts of kindness that bring warmth to the season”.
Through a nationwide search, in partnership with Community Foundations of Canada, Coca-Cola is asking Canadians to nominate kind acts in their community — whether their own or by others — for the chance to win a $50,000 donation to a local non-profit in their area and a special Holiday Caravan experience in 2025. The community with the most submissions per capita will be recognized as “Canada’s Kindest Community”.
Submissions can be made online until Jan. 6, 2025.
