Hop aboard the Easter Eggspress at the BCFDC
The Easter Eggspress is back on April 20 to 22 with three days of fun and Green Hornet train rides all weekend, says the BC Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan.
The Discovery Centre expanded their Easter Eggspress to three days a couple of years ago for the annual Easter Scavenger Hunt for families in and visiting the Cowichan Region.
“This event has been a popular spring tradition for over 10 years and has become so popular that a couple of years ago we expanded it to the whole three-day weekend. Turned out so well that we’re continuing it again this Easter,” says Chris Gale, manager at the BC Forest Discovery Centre.
“A new addition to this year’s Easter Eggspress is having Hershey’s on board with their ‘Eggies’ to add to the fun weekend that includes unlimited Green Hornet train rides, the Easter Bunny, crafts and a great educational experience. Just some of the reasons for kids of all ages to come out to the three-day event.”
A special admission rate of $6 for children three to 12 years (two and under are free) and $8 for adults/seniors/youth makes it an affordable, and a fun day for all.
This year’s event is scheduled for the Saturday, Sunday, and Easter Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Hershey Eggies being provided for children who complete the scavenger hunt. For those wanting lunch, the concession will be open for you to grab a quick bite.
“Easter Eggspress is a fun way to kick off our new season.”
The Easter Scavenger Hunt is just the beginning of a season full of special events. Purchase a membership and your admission includes the Easter Eggspress. Other events planned for the 2019 season include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, an Antique Truck Show, Kid’s Day, Labour Day, the opening of the new Forests Forever Exhibit, Halloween Train, and of course, the always popular Christmas Express.
The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a not for profit museum and relies on sponsorships, donations and memberships in order to continue its operations. Special event and membership information can be found at www.bcforestdiscoverycentre.com or by calling 250-715-1113.
