South End residents flocked to Mill Bay Centre Saturday, Nov. 28 for the area's annual Christmas Light-up celebrations.

Mill Bay light-up 2015

It was a cold day, with temperatures really dipping after the sun went down, but the warm spirit of the community was only enhanced by the popular chili contest and a big fire in the fire pit, not to mention the entertainment onstage, marshalled by Phil Newns and Shelley Vaags.

Everyone was waiting for the big arrival of Santa Claus later but in the meantime there was lots of entertainment to enjoy including Paul Kilshaw the Magician and the Cowichan Valley Cloggers.
