The 31st annual Cowichan Bay Wooden Boat Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 this year.

You and your family can enjoy looking at wooden vessels of all kinds and even vote for your favourite, go out in a rowboat, enjoy live entertainment and try your luck at a silent auction.

Salty types can view steam bending, steam engine and knot tying demonstrations.

There’s a children’s boatbuilding station, a chance for kids to fish, a clam chowder contest and much more.

The event includes the popular Fast & Furious Boatbuilding Challenge where teams have to build a “boat” from scratch in four hours that’s strong enough to carry them all, parade it along the road and then race it at Kil-pah-las Beach.
