The sun poured down on Duncan Saturday morning, July 18, but then it usually does for the Cowichan Summer Festival's Grande Parade.
And, as parades go, this one was really grand, taking a full hour to pass by any one location and including a huge variety of entries from the Valley's wonderful pipe and drum band and Legion colour party near the beginning to a huge contingent of cadets bringing up the rear of the event.
There were dancers from several local schools, business entries, services clubs, floats: in other words, all the fun of a parade for the whole family.
