On Saturday, Oct. 3, the fire prevention officers of the Cowichan Valley will be having a kick off for Fire Prevention week at Walmart in Duncan from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with plenty of hands-on fun for people of all ages.

Officers from the Cowichan Valley fire departments will be on site along with the Fire Safety House to educate the public on fire safety. Along with the Fire Safety House, various fire trucks from the departments in the Valley will be available for the public to go through.

“This was a very big event last year for the fire prevention group as we continue to educate the public on fire safety,” said Steve McCaffery, Cowichan Valley Fire Prevention director.
