Firefighters get behind Community Services Hamper Drive

Join the Lake Cowichan fire department this weekend for their toy drive, and breakfast on Saturday

With the annual Cowichan Lake Communiy Services Christmas hamper campaign well underway, local residents and groups are stepping up to show their support.

The Lake Cowichan Fire Department is holding its 10th annual Food & Toy Drive at Country Grocer this weekend to help out the Lake Cowichan Food Bank and Community Services on Friday, Dec. 8, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The department is also offering Breakfast on the Firefighters of LCFD on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Donations of cash, or unwrapped new toys or non-perishable food items will be gladly accepted at these events, and firefighters are urging everyone to spread the word so there’s plenty in the stockings.
