Lifeguard services at Fuller Lake Park and the Crofton Pool are set to return in the coming days for the 2021 summer season.

Services at both locations were not offered in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health restrictions.

Fuller Lake Park will have lifeguards on duty daily from noon to 6 p.m. starting Friday, June 25 through to Aug. 29. The outdoor Crofton Pool will reopen on July 2 through Aug. 21.

There will be various drop-in opportunities at the Crofton Pool Tuesdays through Saturdays. The pool is closed Sundays and Mondays.

“We are incredibly pleased to be able to offer these much-loved services for residents this summer,” said North Cowichan Mayor Al Siebring. “It was a tough year in 2020, and it feels so good to be slowly getting back to normal.”

Some days at the Crofton Pool will have reduced hours due to a shortage of lifeguards that’s happening industry-wide at the moment. As the summer progresses, hours could be extended if additional staffing is secured.

Full details on hours of operation, program and registration details are available at www.northcowichan.ca/recreation.
