Youbou Community Hall is the place to be on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.

Youbou Community Association chair Julia Martinusen said her group is taking a little inspiration from the Bavarian fall beer-tasting tradition and hosting an “Oktobeerfest” celebration.

For the cost of your $20 ticket, you’ll be treated to soft drinks and German-inspired snacks and the atmosphere of Bavaria, complete with Bavarian flags, colours and fall favourites like pumpkins, cornstalks and more.

What you won’t get, however, is German music. Instead rock and roll — the type perfect for dancing — will be belted out by non-other than The Rivals with Rod Fortin.

Besides beer, the Youbou Community Association will also be selling wine and spirits.

Want a ticket? Head to the Youbou Bar & Grill, Shop & Save, Daly’s Auto Centre, or Cassy’s Coffee House in Youbou and in Lake Cowichan, go to Scarlett’s Second Hand Boutique and the Cowichan Lake Visitor Centre for tickets.

Ticket holders may choose to make a reservation for the free shuttle service to and from the party.
