Open forum in Duncan to address racism towards First Nations women

The idea is to offer a safe place for First Nations women to be able to speak up about being silenced

Aboriginal women and those concerned about the way they are treated by today’s society are invited to an open forum called Let Me Speak...Stop Racism at the Duncan United Church June 25.

This day-long event runs from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The idea is to offer a safe place for First Nations women to be able to speak up about being silenced when they attempt to deal with the inequalities that have dogged them through the decades.

It’s open to all aboriginal women and VIP guest speakers.

If you want to participate as a speaker, call 778-422-0281.

A dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

Donations and gifts for elders would be welcomed.
