The 21st annual Maple Bay Wooden Boat Festival is scheduled to hit the waves May 21-22 at Maple Bay Marina.
This family-friendly event, held on the Victoria Day long weekend, is a special rendezvous for wooden boat owners but it’s open to folks who just love to look at interesting boats, and that means, of course, everyone.
All types of wooden boats are welcome from tugs and fishing boats to elegant old cabin cruisers, so head on down to the marina and dream your way along the walkways as you take in the sights, choosing your favourite craft before voting for it.
There is live music at the site, and local vendors and artisans will also be on hand. Another fun part of the show is the model boat pool. Check it out: you may get the chance to pilot a radio controlled boat through this mini-marina.
